Tattooing Tips - 5 Tips to Tattoo Appointment Day

Jason Spry asked:

There are five key things you need to know before heading off to the Tattoo Parlor
on tattoo appointment day. This article will cover those five key points to help ensure
that when you finally put ink to skin, you are completely ready and do not have any
last minute snags in your tattoo plan.

I have to admit, the first time I went to get a tattoo, I was pretty nervous, I
absolutely had no idea what to expect at all and I was really wondering just “How
painful is this going to be?”

Looking back on my tattoos now, and since I have undergone numerous tattoos,
I know what to expect, and what to prepare for when it comes to Tattoo Appointment
day.

Here five Tattooing Tips - Preparing for Tattoo Appointment Day

1) Tip 1: No Booze! I know you are nervous and you would not mind ‘numbing’ the pain with a few shots of liquor before you go. But doing this or any kind of drugs is a big no-no.

Alcohol thins the blood and thinner blood bleeds easier and takes longer to heal. Sure it
might make it a little less painful, but bleeding like a stuck pig will make it more difficult
for the tattoo artist to do his thing. You want the artist to have a ‘clean’ slate to work with
and do not want him to have to battle with you bleeding all over the place every time he puts
ink to skin. A tattoo that bleeds a lot is also messier to heal, which can result in a flawed
“end result” tattoo.

2) Tip 2: Go in super clean! Take your your daily shower just before your tattoo appointment. If you are like me and have to have a shower every morning regardless, then either schedule your tattoo appointment shortly after you wake up or just take another one right before you
visit the tattoo parlor. The Tattoo artist is going to be right up on you, and you want them to be extremely comfortable there. If you smell, at all, it is going to be a major distraction to the tattoo artist and they probably will not do as good of a job. Do not wear heavy perfume or cologne either, just nice clean skin.

Also keep in mind that post tattoo, you do not want to get your tattoo wet, especially right after having it done. Get clean first.

3) Tip 3: Wear comfortable clothes to your appointment! If your clothing is going to cover the tattoo, don’t wear white. A little blood could get on your clothes from the bandage and, well, we all know what blood does to white . I also recommend wearing loose fitting clothes so they won’t be too tight on the sore tattoo . If you are a woman and you are getting a tattoo on your arm, you might consider wearing a tank top so you don’t have to remove your shirt, although you probably won’t hear any complaints form the tattoo artist.

4 ) Tip 4: Take a DISTRACTION for yourself. Bring something with you to take your mind off having the tattoo done. A MP3 player is of course a good idea, as well as a book or magazine. Most tattoo artists ( like mine ) will talk to you during the process, but sometimes it is hard to hear over
the buzzing of the tattoo gun, and the shooting pain.

5 ) Tip 5: Eat something before you go. Some people can get light headed and even faint while having a tattoo put on, and having food on your stomach will help. Also, it takes a while, typically a couple hours, for even small tattoos to be put on. You do not want to be hungry on top of enduring the tattoo application.

Alright, those are my five tips to preparing for tattoo appointment day. I hope this article has been informative and will help make your first tattoo experience more pleasurable . Secretary’s Day Gifts - 5 Safe Gifting Ideas

Filed under: Shopping And Product Reviews — Tags: , , — admin @ 3:11 pm
Leah Lee asked:

Secretary’s Day and Administrative Professional Appreciation Week are fast approaching, and it can seem that finding appropriate gifts for these purposes is so difficult-especially for male bosses with female employees. It’s hard enough for many people to shop for their own spouses let alone the people one works with, yet the time cannot go by without being acknowledged. Secretary’s gifts are not meant to be one of the great wonders of the world, but most employees expect to at least be recognized during this time, and passing it by without so much as a mention yet alone a token of appreciation can be detrimental to employee morale.

Of course, that doesn’t do an employer any good at all, so to help we have cracked the code for safe gift giving for your employees this year. Read on for a few suggestions as to what Secretary’s Day gifts you could pick up for the employees that help keep your business running from day to day.

Business Card Holders

Business card holders are great Secretary’s Day gifts for employees that work for you that may find it necessary to carry business cards. Engraving the name and position of your employee on the card holder or something else of that nature adds a personalized touch and shows that you put thought into the gift, especially when they didn’t expect you to.

Paperweights-An Old Classic

Another great idea for such an occasion is a paperweight. A paperweight is probably one of the most often gifts exchanged in a professional environment. Many see them as overrated, while many more think they are underrated. They always prove useful to hold papers down and out of the way or mark important materials, and they make a lovely little decoration for the desk as well. A paperweight is something that your employees will always be able to use, not just for a short while. Crystal paperweights and ones with interesting items in them or made of interesting items are always a good idea.

Personalized Totes

Personalized totes are another interesting idea for this occasion. People always have things that they take into work, whether it be files and papers or personal items. If there are a lot of things going into the office in the morning, it is very easy to leave at the end of the day with twice the amount of items in tow that you brought in, a difficult situation for any person-especially if they parked far. Personalized totes are perfect for such employees and are useful for occasions outside of work as well, like days at the park, beach, or library.

Watches and Clocks

Stop watches and clocks are also great gifts for employee appreciation. Not only do they increase productivity, but everyone can always use another time piece at home or at the office. These are more useful gifts that prove great for the dedicated worker, especially if they have the company name or logo emblazoned on it somewhere.

Picture Frames

Last but certainly not least, picture frames always make great appreciation gifts for employees. They are simple and always useful for any employee of any age, interest, background, or position in the company.

Secretary’s Day gifts don’t’ have to be a brain melter. These are just a few of many suggestions that you could come up with for way to treat your most special employees.

This is where easy mothers day crafts can come in handy. By finding inexpensive easy crafts to make as gifts, you can make something that will have meaning and be special to the wonderful mom in your life!

A really simple and inexpensive craft idea is to buy a solid color plain t-shirt and some inexpensive fabric paints- after the shirt has been washed and dried (to prevent shrinking afterward!), using the paints either put the children’s hand-prints on the shirt along with names, or have a design that matches a hobby or interest that Mom may have. Another really simple and inexpensive idea is to take a plant pot, paint the outside (or let the children paint the outside, then put some flower seeds of some sort in it, or a small plant. This is great when given with a simple card that expresses how a mother’s love plants seeds for life in a child’s heart. The idea is to express the love that a child and mother feel toward each other, and to express how special they are to one another.

If neither of these ideas appeal to you, then there are lots of other easy mothers day crafts out there! Ideas for Inexpensive Valentine Gifts - Celebrating Valentine’s Day on a Budget

Jamie Jefferson asked:

You don’t have to spend a lot of money to get your Valentine a treasured and meaningful gift. In fact, you can find the traditional (and traditionally expensive) Valentine gifts at a discount if you know where and when to buy. Plus, there are lots of inexpensive gifts to which you can add your own sentiments to make them truly meaningful.

Here are six tips for finding affordable Valentine’s Day gifts:

1. A dozen red roses is one of the most romantic gestures you can make (on Valentine’s Day or any time of the year), and you don’t have to pay a lot if you know a few secrets. One way to get your Valentine’s roses at a discount is to order early. Several of the major online florists offer as much as $10 off your Valentine bouquet if you pre-order your bouquet by the end of January (for delivery on Valentine’s Day). No matter what time you order your Valentine’s bouquet online, make sure you look for a coupon code first. You’ll find 10% off coupons year round, and you can find surprisingly inexpensive Valentines packages by shopping around.

2. To reduce your costs still further, pair a simpler floral purchase with a personal sentiment. Purchase a single red rose, add a small box of fine chocolates, and combine it with a card in which you write 10 to 20 (or 100) reasons you are grateful for your Valentine.

3. You aren’t required to send roses. What is your loved one’s favorite bouquet? She’ll appreciate that you know what her favorite flower is, and you may be able to save some money on a less traditional floral gift.

4. Purchase seeds or bulbs and a few decorative pots so that she can grow her own favorite flowers. Include a card with the sentiment that your love will continue to grow just as the flowers do. When you give a growing plant, instead of cut flowers, you ensure that the recipient will be able to enjoy the gift for longer than a week or two.

5. The prospect of creating treasured memories together can be just as romantic as a bouquet of roses. If your budget is tight, rent a couple of romantic movies and order pizza for Valentine’s Day. The trick to being romantic is in the personalization that you bring to each gift. The most romantic gifts are those that say, “I spent time on this gift” and “I enjoy spending time with you.”

6. When you are looking for inexpensive gift ideas, think outside the box. If your loved one likes to keep a diary, for example, present her with a beautiful new journal and a nice pen. Sign the inside with a romantic quote.

The trick to making any gift romantic is to make sure to pair your gift with words from your heart. A romantic card with a handwritten, heartfelt sentiment is, in itself, one of the best gifts you can give.

Mother’s Day Poems

Jennifer Bailey asked:

Mother’s Day poems are those poems that are meant to be directed towards your mother or another mother figure in your life, that will brighten her day on Mother’s Day. A poem dedicated to your mother this Mother’s Day will be the most flattering gift that you could present to her. It will be a compliment to the bond that you share with her.

Write some wonderful lines in verse in a mother’s day greeting card and attach it to her equally well-chosen gift. She will be delighted to receive a personalized gift such as this. And if you are wondering how to develop the creative instinct to pen down some lines for your dear mother, don?t worry. You are not expected to become a poet overnight. There are hundreds of poems on the Internet that are dedicated to mothers and Mother’s Day. So, all that you have to do is pick the one that best describes your feelings and emotions for your mother.

Even though it is easier to pick someone’s lines and write them down for your mother, try to express your love for your mother in our own words. Remember, she is not looking for a great piece of poetry nor does she visualize you as a great poet. What is most vital to her is your love and appreciation. Let your love for her flow out spontaneously in a few lines of verse. A little poetic effort is the best Mother’s Day gift she could have ever hoped for.

Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas - Tips On Enjoying The Day of Amore

Delia Galley asked:

Cynics say that St. Valentine’s day is one big marketing ploy architected by the genius of Madison avenue to sell greeting cards and chocolate. Whether, this is true or not - love is a gift worth celebrating.

According to historians, Valentine’s day originated from a cruel practice, which goes back to the fourth century B.C., where young Roman boys would draw the names of girls from a box – like a lottery. The young boy would then make the girl, his sexual partner for the remaining of the year.

After eight hundred years of this cruelty, the church stopped the practice and looked for a suitable patron saint of love – St. Valentine was the answer.

There are varying stories on St. Valentine. Some say he was a bishop, who defied Emperor Claudius rule, forbidding men to marry. Claudius believed that married men made poor soldiers. Valentine ignored this rule and secretly married young men. When Claudius found out about Valentine’s action, he had him beheaded.
Another story has it that Valentine was imprisoned and fell in love with his jailer’s daughter. Before he was put to death, he wrote a note and signed it “From Your Valentine”. The rest is history.

Now that you know the history of St. Valentine’s day, aren’t you ready to do a little something special for your lady or gentleman love?

Here are a few gift ideas, guaranteed to please your significant other.

Outrageously Fabulous Gifts. These are gifts that you will probably not give or get but are worth fantasizing about.

Travel

Nothing is more romantic than a spontaneous trip. Wisk your lady love or gentleman love away on a short holiday to Paris, where they can sample the wonderful culinary delights the French have to offer. Have dinner atop the Eiffel tower and take a boat ride on the Seine in the most amorous city on the face of the earth. If you are more Italian in your taste, then find yourself in romantic Tuscany, strolling the streets of Florence or sleeping in one of the dreamy hotels along the Grand canal in Venice.

If your love, is interested in wines, why not surprise them with a trip to California’s wine country.

Jewelry

You can’t go wrong with jewelry. How about a beautiful diamond ring, necklace or watch? To make the gift more meaningful, do as St. Valentine did and have the gift inscribed with something romantic.

Fantastic Yet Affordable Gifts.

Spa Get Away

There is nothing more **** than feeling rejuvenated, relaxed and in a great mood. Spas can do this to you. Treat your significant other to a spa gift certificate so that they can indulge in a much needed rest and relaxation session. Popular treatments include Hot Stone massages, Therapeutic Swedish massages, facials, manicures and pedicures.

Dinner

Instead of waiting two hours to be seated at a restaurant, why not prepare a special dinner at home complete with a fancy table setting, flowers and a dessert such as chocolate covered strawberries.

To make things even more special, make your service worthy of a restaurant’s. Create a menu, identifying your appetizers, entrees and desserts. Buy a nice wine or champagne to accompany your dinner.

You can’t go wrong with any of these romantic do’s.

Mother’s Day Unique Gifts - An Edible Fruit And Candy Arrangement

Filed under: Shopping And Product Reviews — Tags: , , — admin @ 4:39 am
Lana Glass asked:

This is an easy to make fruit arrangement that can be a desert centerpiece or a unique handmade gift.

1. Prepare a heart-shaped container. I used a heart-shaped glass bowl for this edible fruit and candy arrangement, which I bought for about a dollar at Wal-Mart.

2.

a) Prepare Styrofoam disc or sheet, clear plastic food wrap, scotch tape, a serrated knife, and scissors.

b) Using your container as a guide, cut the Styrofoam heart out using a serrated knife. Wrap the Styrofoam heart in clear plastic food wrap, fixing it, in several places, with scotch tape on the bottom of the heart.

c) Attach the foam to the bottom of the container with double-sided tape or hot glue.

The foam should be about 1″ below the rim of the container.

3. Prepare strawberry flavored hard candy and dressmaker’s pins. Attach these candies along the inside perimeter of the bowl using pins.

4. Add strawberries to the arrangement. First, wash and dry the strawberries; remove the strawberry leaves as suits your taste.

Using toothpicks insert strawberries into the foam to cover the empty center. First, insert a toothpick into the foam and then stick a strawberry onto the toothpick; do not let the toothpick poke through the strawberry.

5.

a) Attach a red non-transparent ribbon (for example, satin ribbon) along the outside of the bowl, using mini glue dots (which you can buy at a local craft store) or glue the ribbon in several places.

b) Then, make a bow as described below and glue it over the ribbon’s seam.
How to make a bow: Cut two lengths of ribbon. Make a circle with each length overlapping the ends. Then stack the smaller loop on top of bigger one. Staple or sew them together. Wrap a piece of ribbon around the center of the bow, overlap the ends and glue them together. The bow is ready.

Congratulations on your beautiful edible fruit arrangement is ready!
Happy Mother’s Day!
